HotBrick´s SoHo 401 VPN is
the perfect solution to protect your network from
external threats (hackers, invasions, etc) while
providing safe VPN connections to remote networks. The
SoHo 401 VPN is a firewall, a high bandwidth router, and
a 4 port switch that can connect securely to remote
networks through VPN (Virtual Private Network) tunnels.
VPN is an encryption mechanism that makes safe
connections possible between networks over the internet.
The VPN tunnel can use IPSec or PPTP (Windows VPN). The
SoHo 401 VPN can connect with other VPN capable
products, like the HotBrick VPN Client or Windows PPTP
VPN. It is an outstanding high performance and cost
effective product.
The SoHo 401 VPN is ideal for
those who need to share their high bandwidth internet
connection with several users securely.
The SoHo
401 VPN was developed to respond to the needs of small
offices and home users who connect to the internet using
a high bandwidth connection and need a safe and simple
internet sharing solution. Up to 4 users can connect
directly to SoHo 401 VPN ports, or up to 253 users using
hubs and switches. The SoHo 401 VPN is easy and simple
to install and requires no specific network
knowledge.
HotBrick´s SoHo 401 VPN allows the
definition of access policies, with user division into
groups with distinct internet access and policies. It
also allows controlling and blocking undesirable web
sites and works as a DHCP server, assigning IP numbers
to the computers of your network while releasing a
computer from that task.
The SoHo 401 VPN
provides firewall protection against attempted attacks
and invasions. It has NAT (Network Address Translation),
SPI (Stateful Packet Inspection), anti DoS (Denial of
Service) features and provides attack alerts via
email.
The SoHo 401 VPN allows the
creation of up to 10 VPN tunnels. A VPN tunnel is an
encryption mechanism that provides a safe connection
between a LAN and a remote network over the internet.
You can safely connect your enterprise to your
subsidiaries, shops, partners or even your
house.
HotBrick´s SoHo 401 VPN has
a high performance firewall for the protection of your
business or home. The firewall provides SPI (Stateful
Packet Inspection) which detects and blocks DoS (Denial
of Service) and other malicious
attacks.
The NAT (Network Address
Translation) feature performs the translation of network
addresses and ports. This ensures the privacy of your
internal network IPs while requiring only one public IP
for your network.
The SoHo 401 VPN allows you
to block and control access to undesirable sites to
prevent users from improperly accessing the internet.
The DMZ (demilitarized
zone) feature supports applications that demand
bidirectional data transmission over the internet. It
also allows a server/PC on the LAN to act as an
independent node that communicates with the internet in
both directions, like web servers. With the exception of
the DMZ, bidirectional communication with the internet
is not allowed by the firewall.
The Virtual Server feature,
with port forwarding, allows sharing LAN services, such
as email and FTP. With this feature, external users can
access specific services on your
LAN.
With the SoHo 401 VPN you
can create up to 5 distinct user groups with distinct
internet access and policies. For example, you can
create a group with full access, one that can only
access the internet and email, and another that can
access only email.
If you have a dynamic IP
address, which changes at each connection or at various
intervals, the DDNS feature prevents you from having to
change the IP address manually on your equipment. This
way remote access, VPNs, and other services that depend
on IP addresses are not
interrupted.
The SoHo 401 VPN can act as
a DHCP server for your network for up to 253
users.
The SoHo 401 VPN allows the
passage of VPN connections (PPTP, L2TP, IPSec) through
the equipment. It doesn't intefere with established VPN
tunnels between internal and external users/servers.
The 401 VPN supports
internet communication applications such as games, VoIP
and conferences that are usually hard to use behind a
firewall. The support for special applications allows
the use of some non-standard applications, where each
port used to reply is different from the port that
issued the request.
